Hello all,

I am brand new to this forum and thought I would ask a couple of questions.

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that a small place on the right side of my tongue felt numb, I looked and didnt see anything so just passed it off as nothing. Within the last week or so I noticed a small growth in this same area, it looks like what is commonly referred to as a "skin tag". Also with the last few days I have noticed that a small area on the left side of the roof of my mouth has the same sensation as my tongue does, I had my wife look at the roof of my mouth and she said I had the same "skin tag" type growths there to, plus red spots on the far right side of my mouth on the cheek. Now I will admit that my oral hygeine is not the absolute best in the world and was wondering if this could be the cause or could it be something that I need to consult with my doctor or dentist about. BTW, which is better for this type of issue, a doctor or dentist?
I cannot afford to nor do I want to be an alarmist and run to the doctor or dentist when it isnt necessary, I do however want to have them checked out if its warranted...that is where your thoughts on the subject will come in handy...

Thanks,

KelleyW
