Thank you all for your kind words
I haven't told you much, other than that I'm Bren's daughter. Unfortunately, she's not the first cancer thing I've been through in the last couple of years.
2 1/2 years ago, my best friend was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and about 3 months later another friend was diagnosed with the same thing. At this point, it was a standing joke that if you hang around me, you get cancer! they are both now cancer free (best friend was stage IV, other friend stage II)
In early June, right before mum's diagnosis, by father in law passed away from the exact same cancer mum has. He was diagnosed in February and quite literally laid down and died. He refused treatment, wouldn't do anything to help himself.
Over the last 6 years, another friend of mine survived breast cancer 5 times. She was cancer free, but in July she contracted MRSA and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.
This year has actually been kind of cruddy (look mum, I'm being polite!!!

), but I am very grateful that you guys are all here and my mum has somewhere to go where she has people who knows what she's going through.
The moral of the story among all of my friends..........stay the hell away from me....I will give you the cancer badness

Yes - I know it's not contagious but I freely admit to having talked to my doc about it!
