As a stage four patient you should do this in the next day or two. Time is important right now, and your quality of life after treatment is important in the future. Most of the big ccc hospitals are using chemo and radiation to do base of tonge treatments, since surgery is so tough on what your life will be like afterwards. Getting an opinion from a multidiciplinary treatment facility near you ( I think UCSF is the closest) should be on your immediate to do list...this week.
