Hello Everyone - My beautiful mother died in December 2020 from oral cancer. She had a massive tumor (bot) about 6 cm that was misdiagnosed twice during COVID. The ENT surgeon removed some from her tongue, "debulked" the bot mass, and gave her a trach. The trach was horrible. She was supposed to undergo aggressive chemo and radiation, but she had a stroke and this complication lead to her death. I feel as though the trach and maybe even the surgery could have been avoided with chemo and radiation, but he said she needed the trach to breath. Is this typical?
