Hi, I am new to this forum. My Dad, aged 65, was diagnosed with SCC in August 2005. September 2005 he had a partial glossectomy and node disection on his right hand side. Out of 34 nodes, 2 were positive for SCC. He underwent radiation and chemo and finished up right before Christmas 2005. Fast forward 10 weeks and he is having pain in his tongue again. He went back to his ENT this past Wednesday and got the news yesterday that the cancer is back. (CRAP!) They are talking extensive surgery and brachytherapy, (sounds scary,) as well as chemo. We thought we were DONE with this horrible invader....now we have to start the fight again. And he is already so weak! I would love to talk to someone who has had a reoccurance. I hope to get tips on nutrition, pain, daily life. You name it, I would love to get the input of others like my Dad...to help him out. I feel so helpless and I love him so much!!!
