I usually ask doctors 'if I was your sister, what would you tell me to do?' It makes it more personal and encourage them to think from a different angle.
My father in law had 1/2 his jaw removed followed by radiation when he was in his mid 70s, and he didn't have any more problems.
I pray you find the right doctors, the right words, the right treatment, and ultimately the right choice.
