Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | Its not so much the tissues surrounding the mandibles that have capillary issues, it's the bones themselves (mandible, etc.). I don't know how anyone could visually determine that.
I have lost 2 teeth post RT and had one decapitated in the radiation field with a root canal. I have had to replace the cap once. Be sure to brush the cap if you have one.
Concerning HBOT, I am not aware of any negative issues with it since I have been here.
My dentist and Drs both recommended using a mouthwash as well, which I use several times a day.
There's plenty of bacteria below the gum line - I was getting aspiration pneumonia every time I had my teeth cleaned until the hygienist and I worked out a better game plan.
