Hi All:

My mother has been very ill over the last couple of months and my family responsibilities have kept me from the board with my usual frequency. It was with a heavy heart that I logged on today and read the information about Heather. The depth of my own emotional response validates that our virtual family is indeed a tight one and one loss affects us all greatly. I just want to take a moment to tell Rosie and all of you how grateful I am to know you and share our time together. Rosie's advocacy and love for Heather will remain permanently etched in my being and I have been permanently changed by following their journey.

I missed the initial thread (and now am having trouble finding it) about where to send a donation for Heather's Fund. Could someone please just repeat the info-does it go to the main OCF address?

Speaking of family members, I want to also provide an update on Packer 66 (Frank)in the hopes that Dee, who is very overwhelmed, will receive additional support from us. I had an
e-mail from Dee over the weekend saying that Frank's tumor is in his sinus region and he has been admitted to Dana Farber here in Boston for 5 weeks for a course of IMRT and pain control. Frank is in a great deal of pain, but true to form, is brave and determined to prevail. Dee cannot stay with him for the duration so I envision this will be an exceedingly hard time for them both.Frank has no family in the Boston area so he is essentially solo here.

Dana Farber is about 30 minutes from my home and once I have an update from Dee, Dave and I plan on visiting Frank. I will check with Dee to see if it is okay to post Frank's last name in case anyone wants to send a card to the hospital and I will post the address. Meanwhile, anyone wishing to send a card to my house for Frank is welcome to do so and I will bring it to him. You can reach me at [email protected] and I will give you my address.

I will post any updates.

Today, I am thinking about the Heather's spirit and Frank's bravery.
