Sometimes when using the internet it can not be as helpful as a patient thinks. Put in enough symptoms and even a 75 year old man could be diagnosed as being pregnant. Try to avoid using Dr Google.

As far as HPV goes, only thru a biopsy would that be determined. But the sample is not always routinely tested for HPV and there is no other way to check for this virus. The majority of the population will at some time in their adult lives develop HPV+. Most patients bodies can clear the illness without doing anything at all. Only a very small percentage will have their HPV continue on to become something serious like oral cancer, anal cancer, penile cancer, cervical cancer or genital warts. Only a few of the hundreds of strains of HPV will cause any serious problem. Most often HPV presents no signs or symptoms. HPV will run its course without any treatment unless it is one of the few problem strains and that strain has continued on to create one of the above named diseases. If you are aged 12 - 26 thru a series of 3 Guardisil vaccinations can you protect yourself from the cancer causing strains of HPV. This can be obtained thru your family physician.

What is going on in your mouth, an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist who specializes in oral cancer should be able to determine.

I hope what is going on with you is nothing serious. Best wishes!
