Usually, my experience is - they prefer not to allow the secretary to give out bad news. They want you to come in. Good news is okay and they will allow the secretary to tell you over the phone.
Often when the results are not good, the dr. wants to talk to you face to face, and then discuss a course of treatment.
Now this does not mean anything in terms of your dr. etc... this is just our protocol here. I would NOT wait any longer. If the results are back and they aren't giving them to you over the phone, then your GP may have a copy, you can call them. Or request a quick visit ASAP... be polite but tell them how amazingly anxious you are.
