Here in the US the cut off year for getting the shot is about age 26. The consensus is that by that point in time you have had enough sexual partners to have gotten the virus because it is so common. The good news is that for 99% of the people that develop an oral HPV16 infection, it will not cause anything to happening them� the other 1% of them, well we're here on the forum! So the recommended age for vaccination is between about 10 and 12 when children are pre sexual.
