First thing I will tell you is to get rid of the cigs. Immediately!!! Tobacco contains over 50 known cancer causing chemicals. Did you know urea is added as a flavor enhancer? Whats urea? URINE! Tobacco companies will do anything to get people hooked! I am a former smoker and can attest to the fact that nothing god ever came from this habit. I know quitting isnt easy but once you make your mind up to do it, that determination will help you to quit. I am now missing half of my lower jaw and disfigured all due to my smoking habit. Now about the spot. If it has been there for 2 weeks of longer then it should be checked by a professional. An ENT usually cant tell visually what it is, he can suspect but wont be certain until a biopsy. That is where they will take a very tiny piece of the spot and send it to the lab for processing. This is the only way to know for sure what you are dealing with. I hope its nothing more than irritation from smoking. Many scared people come here and find when they quit smoking the symptoms disappear. But it could be any number of things going on with your mouth. Get checked and then you will know what you are dealing with. If you told the doc that it has been there for a while and they still insisted on you coming back in a couple weeks then I would suggest finding another ENT who will listen better to your symptom history.
