You could also have someone bring your bag to you after you are taken to your room. If you have a kindle that would be a great thing to help keep you occupied. Dont forget to take the charger for that too. Its better to have the chargers and not need them to get stuck running out of juice when you need your electronics.
A dry erase board is a great help too. If possible have someone there with you as much as possible. People can take turns. Its always better to have an advocate be your voice while you are in the hospital.
