Often they'll get the results and schedule the surgery as with tongue cancer they like to take nodes too. A biopsy is a short procedure - tongue surgery can be very complicated and take much longer. It is possible cutting into it can cause the cancer to spread faster , (it's a theory) no one knows for sure. Just push the drs for he results ASAP and if it is a ca dx - then make ur they don't make you wait too long. Best of luck and hope your biopsy results are clear.
