Hello Emilie and all, I am caregiver to my fiance,Eric, who at age 57 was diagnosed with SCC Stage IV. His diagnosis is very similar to yours. He/we have completed 12 radiation treatments and 3 of the 7 weekly chemotherapies. When Eric shared the news with his family he did so with the straight facts the doctor gave him. We let them look up more information in their own time and have answered questions as they come up. We discovered through experience that using the PEG is important to maintain nutrition and hydration. Eric realizes he feels better when he is completely hydrated. Hang in there! It's nice to know this board is here. It is a comfort to be in touch with others experiencing the same or similar things.
