Hi Leena - welcome to the board - you will find lots of very supportive people here. My sister Cathy thought she had a canker sore when she went to the dentist in February - well you can guess the rest of the story. Cathy weighed only a 100 pounds when she had her surgery - once she started radiation we decided a PEG tube was the way to go - she went through a really bad couple of weeks in mid May but seems to be bouncing back. I don't know if there is a 'normal' weight loss figure - from what I've been reading here it seems to depend on your type of surgery and how you react to treatment. Did you ever consider a feeding tube? Is it painful to swallow or is it difficult to swallow?
