I'd really question the pulling the teeth bit. My teeth are ok as far as no cavities, but always had some sort of peridontal thing or another going on, had max rad to tongue and still have the teeth.
Main thing afterword is to do regular checkups, do the flouride trays care for them even more. No reason to get them all pulled arbitrarily. That's old school technique.

SCC Tongue, stage IV diagnosed Sept, 2002, 1st radical neck dissection left side in Sept, followed by RAD/Chemo. Discovered spread to right side nodes March 2003, second radical neck dissection April, followed by more RAD/Chemo.
