Hi Mausmish, I had my selective neck dissection separated too.

Max, well, I had this surgery too and my smile were pretty strange for about 40 days after the surgery. Then It came completely back to normal.

I must confessed that I almost freak out when I looked in the mirror and saw my mouth dumb, I was MAD because the doctor didn�t told me it was going to happen. And when I asked he told me there�s a little risk to not recoved. However, It was 100% recovered.
Then I bet you�ll feel the same.

I lost the "sensitivity" in a small part under my mandible. But it does not bothers me at all. And the doc saids it keep improving until ONE YEAR after the surgery.

Yesterday I complete 10 months post surgery and everything is fine.

December, 2011 - T1N0M0 SSC Oral Tongue sugery (Dec 07, 2011). Partial glossectomy, primary closure. Selective Neck dissection, all 57 nodes free. 29 at diagnosis, no risk factors at all. No smoking, drinking and HPV negative. Can you explain? I can't.
