Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 6 | About 10 days ago i found out i have stage 4 scc of the mandible with some invovement of floor of mouth. Did have insitu oral cancer in 05 and 06, removed surgically.
It's all complicated by huge tori on bottom of mouth.
Had one opinion: mandibulectomy, tori removal and modified neck dissection, use of fibula flap followed by radiation. Going for second opinion with Dr R. Marx in Miami on Tuesday and then to Moffitt in Tampa for 3rd opinion on Wednesday with Dr T. Mcaffrey. ( i live closest to Tampa).
Hoping to find someione i feel comfortable with and also the least invasive.
Stage 4 mandibular/alveolar ridge/lateral tongue Oct 2012. Left mandibulectomy,partial glossectomy and reconstruction of floor of mouth,mandible.
Now have positive anterior margin of bone and some positive margins of soft tissue.
