Hi there and welcome. It sounds like they are doing a little bit of everything to you - removing the tumor is a good thing and the nodes though generally when they do the nodes they take out quite a few. HPV + cancer generally responds well to radiation and chemo so often they try to treat it with that first, but I have heard of them removing the tonsils Prior to treatment.
