How quickly can you get an appointment? If they can get you in within a week after you call, then perhaps you can wait a week. But if it might be longer, I would call right away. You can always cancel appointments if the situation resolves itself, I would assume. If you don't know how long it will take to get in, call, make an appointment for a week to week and a half from now. At least that is what I would do. I assume we are talking about an appointment with a specialist.
