Most often times the answer to that is in your paperwork - if you signed a consent form saying they are allowed to - they can. Though if you are just being scoped and having a small amount of tissue removed it's unlikely since it's a more invasive procedure. can they as in physically? Yes - they could technically go in and remove it. They can pretty much do anything. But it often depends on consent, or time, preparedness ( were the thinking of doing it based on the look of you thyroid - etc.) also depending on the doctor one procedure requires you to be put under where as the other may not (we used to do broncos copies with just freezing!
