OP Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 99 | Well we have survived the 3 months and will be back at Mayo on Monday the 19th for the next round. His surgeon, ongologist and radiologist have all scheduled appts. to see him and ordered bloodwork, chest x-ray and the PET so we should have all the bases covered. Hopefully we will get clear results this time.
Overall we are optimistic as he is maintaining weight, has no pain or any other symptoms I recognize from the past. I do see some swelling that concerns me, he complains more often about the phlem in his throat area and he does tire easily but he is also fighting depression so who knows. (His spirits are low.) I will keep you posted after we get the results, should hear on Monday what they find. I am just praying for a definitive answer as to what is going on so we can move forward instead of stuck in this worrysome state we have been in for so long.
PS: We did have some happy times recently, we are now grandparents for the 1st time and she makes Emmett smile. Talk to you later.

Flap 4 nodes/w/ext cap. 11/10 Peg, CX3 HD, 30 rad. 1/31 & 3/21 6/11/11 - PET/CT "activity" 9/11-all Clear. 12/11 peg out. 2/15 still all clear! 9/14 Prostate cancer treated with pencil beam proton therapy, best radiation experience. Keep it in mind as a treatment option for all tumors that can be seen including head and neck.
