One common side effect is delayed damage to your thyroid gland (again depending on the radiation field). It's not too late to get a TSH blood test now, so you will have a real baseline number to compare post Rad. Trust me, it's important not to let your doctors reassure you that your TSH level is "within normal range" afterwards since even with the "new normal" of post radiation, your TSH levels should be the same as they were before TX. Without a number, it's harder to get help if you need it. They're taking blood anyway, it's just one more test and if it turns out your levels stay the same, great. There is really no downside but a potential big payoff to having your TSH level known before TX affects it.
