Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 8 | I had my original PEG tube for 1 1/2 years without a problem. Your mother can use club soda to help keep it clean. I currently have a different type of feeding tube, its a J/G tube. This type wears out and every 2 - 4 months and I get it replaced. Two years with a PEG tube is a long time, it has probably become worn out. Have her take your father to see the gastro doc. Make sure she tells them that its malfunctioning so she gets a quick appointment.
