OP Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 87 | I met the radiation oncologist for the first time today. He's concerned about how little I can open my mouth and has put in referral for PT, but insurance (as usual) is dragging its feet on the approval. Dr. A is afraid they won't be able to get a mouthpiece in my mouth. I am scheduled for simulation next Thurs. but wondering if I should hold off for a week in the hopes PT will have helped enough by then? Anyone know how long it takes PT to work? I hate for parts of my mouth that don't need it to get RT because I can't get the mouthpiece in!
