Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | I hope you understand that the Drs and Hospitals will take what you can afford to pay them even if it's only a $5 bill when you have it. That is called a reasonable effort and the law backs this. I owe many thousands to them and I know I will never live long enough to pay them off, but they are nice about our arrangement. When I go for other and more treatments, we agreed that they will just add the new debt to the other ones and keep letting me pay what I can afford. Good luck with this and your life.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
