Senior Member (100+ posts) Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 157 | Well I am actually having my lymph nodes removed as a precaution because they are slightly enlarged. So they are removing my tongue tumor as well as both sides of my lymph nodes. From what I understood, the surgeon basically described the lymph nodes as the gateway for the cancer to spread wherever the hell it wants to in your body,very scary. I truly believe cancer has to be the most evil and unforgiving disease there is, but we will all fight this til the end. I am Stage II, left side of tongue,27 and go in for war on September 16th. SCC left lateral tongue, left neck dissection. 2 nodes positive. 3 All Clear then ITS BACK 8/23/11 Shows 1cm in tongue in CT SCAN, Radial Free Arm Flap with Radical Neck Dissection 9/20/11 , All Nodes Negative, But Tongue Tumor Poorly Differentiated. Awaiting next step in treatment on 10/5/11... RIP Nate 7/28/12
