Your description of the pus discharge was very familiar to me, that's what happened in my case and in fact the first biopsy from that episode was negative. It wasn't until the surgeon got in there that it was determined to be SCC. So I'm gathering the situation isn't all that unusual.
It sounds as if your doctors are doing exactly what needs to be done. Please keep us posted.
