Hi All,
I had my last round of radiation on 06/09/10. For a few weeks after that I was completely on the peg tube, then I started eating soft foods and started going a little more advanced- pasta Alfredo Mac n cheese . Each meal was still a challenge but I felt like I was making progress. My swallowing therapist determined I needed to have a dilation. I was told it was painless, but I had heard that before about other procedures. I had the procedure done on July 28. While the pain deep in my throat was not excessive the pain around the top and back of my throat returned . I feel like this was a necessary procedure, but a set back on the progress I had made with my swallowing. I also need t have the procedure repeated again Sept 8 - they brought the opening to 13 and want to get it to 20. Any other experiences would be nicet hear about feeling frustrated over the set back, can't wait to be rid of the Peg tube, but now I realistically don't see that happening until October.
Tom
