EzJim, Yeh, I've been through the scary part for myself and now I am going through it with my bro. It is much, much harder to be frightened for someone you love than it is for oneself. All of you on this board has helped me tremendously to prepare for the care my DB will need after he is released from the hospital.
If he needs radiation, then he will stay with us until he recovers from that. His surgeon said that it is very likely that he will not need radiation since he caught it early. However this is the third cancer of the tongue that he has had. I think it will take a staging report before the final decision is made.
I am seeing my oncologist next week. I hope he can arrange to be assigned to my brother's case as well.
Thanks again.
