My best friend is a long time smoker. His dad died a few years ago of lung cancer (from smoking). I really thought this was going to sway him. I know it hit home, but it wasn't enough to change him.
Then I got oral cancer last year (although I never smoked or chewed). Again I thought it would be enough to scare him. But that tobacco has him by the claws. I think what you're doing is pretty cool. Even if it only saves one, it's worth the effort. Many of us I'm sure would not have been as brave to speak up.


Age 41 - Stage 2 SCC tongue Dx 2/06. Cisplatin x3, IMRT x35. Mets to neck node discovered 7/07. RND 40 nodes removed, margins not clear. Cisplatin, Taxotere, 5-FU Fall 07, then IMXT/Erbitux for 7 wks. Inoperable mets to both lungs and pleura Dx Oct'08. 4 cycles Carboplatin, Erbitux, 5-FU so far.
