Greetings to the group and my sincere best wishes to those afflicted. I am fortunately still at the undiagnosed stage, but fearing that this will not last. Before I begin, I will admit to some hypchondriatic tendencies, and at the very least I am much more in tune with my body than the average person.
I am an almost 40 male, non smoker, moderate drinker. I have a long history of chronic sore throat, Post nasal drip, frequent infections and acid reflux. I also think I have LPR reflux.
Sore throats come and go over the years and are very common for me. For about the last month or two, I am having a pain in my right tonsil and jaw when I open my jaw wide to yawn or something. It is a dull pain and puling sensation. At first, I thought nothing of it, but it is not going away. Additionally the right jaw area is painful, the nodes do not appear to be enlarged but are also painful, and there is pain radiating behind the ear that hurts when I touch it.
It is worth noting that my former PCP has suggested that I have TMJ and have had pain in the pressure points for this.
Saw ENT who did scope through nose and down throat all clear, tonsils not enlarged or assymetrical.
The pain just will not relent. It is not debilitating jut persistent. I think that I have been checking myself a bit too much and I might be adding to the inflammation of the area. Is this possible?
Does this sound scary to anyone or am I overreacting again? I am scheduled for an upcoming MRI. Any thought on this matter would be appreciated.
Best,
J
