Then a few days ago he did a back flip off of a garden stool where he was weeding my rose garden and landed hard on his upper arms. Now his arms and shoulders hurt too. I guess we have two separate issues with him the swelling and the potential dental problems. The oncologist didnt want him to deal with the dental issues until after his next scan in Nov. Michael did call the local hyperbaric / wound care center and I guess they do take our insurance. We did get a written copy of the report from the first oral surgeon he saw and he recommended either root canals or extractions not definitely extractions. We are still waiting for a copy of the report from the second oral surgeon who was only talking about extractions. I would think preserving his teeth would be great if possible, but if he has the root canals and then later need extractions anyway because of the bone deteriorating I dont know if it would be just putting him though some unnecessary stuff.
So how did you find your mothers lymphedema therapist? We are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Michaels oncologist is in Mobile. He hasnt mentioned that possibility to us only mentioned a possible orthopedic surgeon if the Motrin doesnt help. Michael really doesnt want to go through orthopedic surgery and I had thought that lympathetic massage / therapy (not sure of the correct terminology) might be more what he needs. Does it seem to be significantly helping your mother?
Thank you.
