"OCF Down Under" Platinum Member (300+ posts) Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 404 Likes: 2 | After doing some slow neck stretching exercises daily (shown to me by a physiotherapist), I have been using a "heat pack".
It is heated in the microwave for about 2 minutes and then I sit it around my neck/throat like a collar for about 3/4 of an hour. It has softened up the damaged tissue and it is also very relaxing because it relieves the pulling and tightness. The one that I have is 45cm x 20cm and cost AUS $20.
