I have recently had my third throat dilatation, and when I saw my ENT they ave decided not to do any more as it is too dangerous plus it only worked for a few days this time. I have to say I was very upset at being told that this is all there is they can do and I will just have to live with it (he didnt say it in those exact words). I am supposed to be taking nil by mouth and existing on my peg feeds, as I keep getting pneumonia from food and fluids going into my lungs. I am feeling really down right now, but I guess like everyone else I will get used to it. Sorry for venting but I know you dont mind me doing it here. And, thanks to everyone who replied to my previous post.

I am sorry Margie - that would be a very upsetting thing to hear. Talk to Charm and see if he has any tips for you on living fully while using a peg. No question tho, this would be so disappointing. My doctors talked about putting some sort of metal "stent" in my throat to keep it open (not like a heart stent) should it come to that.

Hugs
