Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 624 | My husband Barry finished his chemoradation treatment for Stage IV SCC, (tonsil, base of tongue and two lymph nodes) at end of September -- no post-treatment surgery -- and just had his three-month check-up and PET/CT scan and all the exams say that there is no sign of residual or recurrent cancer. Now we know that this is not 100% and he will have to be monitored for some time, but it still shows that this disease can be treated and the beast brought to heel.
Btw, he is eating almost everything now, never wants to see another can of Boost (or generic equivalent!) <gr>
