Are there any plans for a Burgundy OCF Cap any time soon? I say only a blue cap that says Cancer Survivor in the OCF store. Maybe I'm missing something? Or I didn't get to the right place?

The idea came to me recently while at my granddaughter's High School football game. It was a combination Homecoming and an Awareness for Breast Cancer. The whole football team had pink jerseys, the cheerleaders, dancers, Color Guard all had pink T-shirts or costumes. The Color Guard waved pink flags. The Band wore pink, and there were tables near the entrance selling pink items. Attractive young girls passed among the packed audience in the stands selling pink stuff. People in the stands were wearing pink. It was lonely in that sea of pink. And the school color was Burgundy.

So, it would be so nice to have a Burgundy cap to wear next time I go to a football game. Or to see an Awareness coming to a football game where everybody wore Burgundy to give Oral Cancer a Voice.

Yeah we have talked about doing these. The few that are still in the store are left overs from an oral cancer survivor get together many years ago, that Ingrid and i bought as gifts for those who came. We were not so brand oriented in those days, and that was really stupid, as our burgundy branding at all of our walks and everywhere else has had a huge impact in putting OCF on the map. We'll re visit the hat issue if there is enough interest.

Jamie is looking into getting some burgundy hats made for our 2015 walk season, and for the OCF store. We are trying to get a link to work in Donor Drive's walk sign ups where when you pick your shirt size, you can opt in for some extra $ to have a hat there for you as well. We'll keep you opposed here. I still wear mine from the more than a decade old survivors meeting, of which there about 10 left in the store.

I didn't get a burgandy cap back then, Brian. Mine is blue.

Burgundy hats for the 2015 Walk season would be great! When it rains, it works really well with a rain poncho over it, so even if it rains you can still walk for Awareness. (or run) You can also wear it to the dentist office or to a high school football game when the school color is burgundy. Or when you have to get a boobiegram. Or when your hair-do just won't work and you want to tame it.

Uptown, since those were just at the beginning of OCF, we hadn't really adopted to total burgundy branding of everything in those days� so mine from then is like yours, blue. But we area all about the burgundy branding of the OCF message these days, just take a look at any of our event photos, T's, booths, even table drapes�. burgundy.

Thanks for reminding me. Mine was sitting on a shelf for years now. It's ready for action and ready for a burgandy partner!

In the Australian state of Queensland, our main sporting game is Rugby League. Our team wears maroon, if you Google Queensland Maroons you'll see its pretty much the same as burgundy.

More than once I drew on that when I needed some extra courage, because they breed us tough in Queensland.
