CRAP! I'm out 2000.00! Watch out I have been duped into buying tons of this trying to save my dad. They really talk the talk. Well we won't be doing that again. Thanks for the quackwatch site Gary. It is so easy to be scammed because I'm hoping for any kind of miracle.
Aren't we all?

Karen,

As a general rule, avoid anything that asks for 2000 bucks. The premise of their two major "discoveries" are things that we are all taught: eat your veggies and balance your electrolytes. There are more concentrated ways to ingest the plant nutrients we need (i.e. phytonutrients). For example, health food stores sell a lot of powdered "greens" that are concentrated antioxidants made the same as Mannatech products only much more cost effective. They make great additions to protein shakes and you don't have to eat a ton of brocolli to get the same nutritional value. Make sure your dad drinks lots of water or even gatorade and his electrolytes will maintain more balance between lab tests. Also, make sure the lab work is closely monitored by you just in case someone gets too busy to call you or your dad. Ask for copies and look for trends. Ask all the questions you need to feel comfortable with the massive amounts of data coming your way.

I bought one of the best juicers available today because I juiced a lot in the past. I spent about as much money as you did, by the way. After radiation, my mouth can no longer tolerate the fresh juices like before and the taste and sensation are less than desirable so there it sits. I learned to avoid any expenses without hearing from a lot of people that it would greatly benefit me.

Another example, I have a "few" boxes of Glutosolve that I believe is a good product and was recommended by the dietician/nutrionist on my medical team. It is supposed to promote faster regrowth of epitheleal cells that should help resolve stomatitis from chemo especially. During my nausea phase (read that as violent vomitting) I just happened to have a bad experience shortly after drinking some Ensure with this stuff and I still don't like to even look at a can of Ensure or a pack of Glutosolve because of the memory even 3 years later.

Ed, I have an expensive juicer (though not quite 2K worth of expense) I don't use so much anymore either......

I have nothing but contempt for companies that make their living promoting worthless, untested (and sometimes dangerous) products on vulnerable persons and giving them false hope. I hope that there is a special place in hell for the persons and executives who make these kinds of decisions and criminal behaviour. It is ILLEGAL to promote a drug or substance "intended to alter the structure of the body" without FDA approval. Period. Report these people to the FDA, send copies of their claims. GNC for instance has had numerous injunctions and other regulatory actions taken against it. Do not patronize these snake oil salesmen.

I have a real nice Alpine Industries Ozone generator/air purifier (from the first run when the ozone levels could actually be toxic before they ran into problems with the FDA) I'll make you a good deal - I paid almost a grand for that thing -from a gal in my bible study group who was into the multilevel marketing thing, also selling "Natures Sunshine". The latest scam that someone threw at me for "chemoprevention" was Noni juice, also well known to Quackwatch. I pointed this out to her and she just patently ignored me like she was from some kind of cult. The people actually selling this stuff are brainwashed drones. It is a classic example of compartmentalized and institutional evil as well described in M Scott Pecks book "The People Of The Lie".

Gary, the disclaimer for the foundation's benefit was not necessary. I and the foundation share your perpspectives.

Nothing wrong with a plain old multivitamin.

What happened to the good old days?
