hi guys,

last night Cathy a recent cancer widow told me of the *great* deal that she is receiving on city/county taxes.

Unfortunately Gid died of lung cancer this past spring. They own a modest home intown and normaly pay just over $1000/yr in property taxes. Kathy now has SS income of about $1600/month.

Because she is a low income widow, the city/county tax bill for this year has been reduced to $24!!

it was suprising to me that the taxes are sensibly reduced to help out the needy, especially for a high tax state.

A hat's off salute to Salisbury, MD which is in Wicomico County.

Is this a common tax practice across the country?

best to you,
larryb

Larry,
Thanks for posting this! Yes, many states, counties, cities, and non-profit organizations have programs and means of helping folks in difficult situations. Unfortunately the don't advertise it!!! Thanks for sharing this so others can benefit.
