Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,606 Likes: 2 | My tube didn't hurt at all and I am a B-I-G baby! I stopped at Church's Fried Chicken a block from the doctors office, had my wife call the doc and make sure I was supposed to eat right away and chowed down.
Sometimes when food lodges in my throat my body signals a sneeze and LOOKOUT the food is going to blow. I know to keep a napkin around because I know exactly when it is going to happen. Luckily it has only been at home...so far.
