Hello, I'm in my third year as a survivor and I've been avoiding contact with anybody concerning cancer for some reason having to do with fear of a recurrance. Sounds stupid I know. Anyway, I feel that I need to keep up with current information and provide support if I can. Best to you all.

Welcome to OCF, CC. Congrats on being cancer free for 3 years. Hope you will feel comfortable here as there are many posts about recurrances. I was the same way and wouldnt read a word about it, I still got a recurrance anyway. Hope all is going well for you after your treatments. Im sure your expierences would be a big help to others.

You're a toughy Sandy and will beat this stuff. You have had the attitude to be a winner.

My doc told me that 80% of reoccurances happen in the first 24 months, so your on the right side of the ledger! I just passed 5 and got notified of this site, thought I might be able to add something. So can you Geezer...glad you are here - Dave

2002 diagnosed w/Squamous Cell carcinoma in the lymph, lumpectomy, right neck dissection and IMRT radiation. 5 year cancer free
