Another oral cancer walk is approaching! The Lehigh Valley Oral Cancer Awareness Walk is scheduled for May 2, registration begins at 9:30! If anyone can attend, your support will be greatly appreciated. . . .Your voice needs to be heard . . . .Check the current ocf events page for more details!!

Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 756 Likes: 1 | On Saturday, May 2, we will be holding the first Annual Oral Cancer Awareness Walk in Bethlehem, PA. There will be a number of OCF members in attendance, and a number that wish they could be there. I�m the co-chair of this event, and I would like your help. I would like to make two signs to have on display at the event, or to be carried by one of our OCF members. The one sign would list OC survivors and the other sign would list those that have lost the battle. If you wish to participate, please send me a PM with your name (can be just your first name, or your full name, or OCF nickname), where you are from (city, state or country), and a brief description of your diagnosis and treatment. For example: Susan from Pennsylvania, diagnosed June 2005 at age 47, SCC of tongue, stage 1, non-smoker, HPV status unknown, surgery, radiation. Let�s hope for a good turnout, great weather, and that we are successful in raising awareness about oral cancer!

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

I didn't see your first note. The OCF members that will be there are Ray1971, ChristineB, Susan Lauria, and me. There are a few other OC survivors on our committee. Ray and I will have the yellow walk shirts on and I'll be hanging out in the registration area so ask for me when you arrive. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
