I know I looked it up. not good, starts a whole new list of meds and test and maybe lost of kidneys, and it's postable that it can be correct or kill, Whats next, no one told me all this before, boy I'm begaining to wonder if it wouldn't have been eaier to live with the cancer. He told me I had 2 or more places in my neck, I only had one to start, so I asked your saying the radiation didn't work and he said no. sometimes I just want to throw a air nat in back of truck and take off with the dog. lay beside a the river and just be by myself, me and dog. Has any one had this and how are you dealing with it?
cancer surgery on July 7th. 2008, I'm now a survivor. cancer free for now. 39 radiation, and 8 chemo treatments.

I used to need significant meds (including high blood pressure meds). After about five years I adapted and was weaned off the meds altogether. There has been no change (or meds) for over twenty years now. My kidney function still shows moderate renal failure but I am just fine
The big problem is chemo. It is hard on good kidneys and they don't like to use it if you have bad ones because it might cause total kidney failure.
Also you need to keep your weight down (probably not a problem post-OC) and you may need to limit red meat, salt, potassium and dairy but check with you doctor (Nephrologist) and Renal Dietitian because if you need hemodialysis they will want you on a different (hi-protein) diet(and you will need an AV shunt installed).

Ive been wondering how you were making out. Sorry to hear things arent the best for you. Hope all is well with your husband and your granddaughter is still helping you.
I had a couple scares in the past. I also had a recurrance with no scare before it so it was out of the blue with that. Im still here, and very thankful about it too!!!!! If the test you are referring to is the PET scan, they are known to give false results. Its very common.
For the most accurate PET results you should drink 64 oz water the 24 hrs before the test. Also avoid exercise, sugar and carbohydrates during that time frame. This will give a more accurate reading. Im no doctor or scientist but once I found this out and followed it my results were much better.
Hang in there, you have gone thru heck and it takes a long time to recover from this.
