I don't know if that is good or bad. The constant hot flashes are nasty and uncomfortable but atleast there is is no monthly issues anymore. Has this happened to any other ladies out there?

I was diagnosed right after I turned 39 and treated immediately thereafter. The dreaded hot flashes didn't hit me until I was well past 50.

I had regular period before and during treatment and I was not yet ready for menopause. But when the treatment completed, I just had period for 2 more times ( a few months apart) and then that was it. I didn't experience any hot flashes or discomfort of menopause, as some of my friends went through. So I consider the early menopause good to me because I need not suffer from the monthly menstrual pain any more.

But after rad and chemo was over, I was also put on Tamoxifen for the breast cancer I was being treated for, and that also has an effect so it's a combination of a bunch of things. I have some hot flashes, not too many (knock on wood). I just turned 48--it was going to happen sometime soon anyway! Like you and Karen, I don't miss cramps and other "monthly issues"......

No one mentioned that it could push me into, through, or past menopause. But everything just up and stopped with the first chemo treatment! I look at it as a rather nice side effect of treatment - Kris

Not sure what is next, I will see my gyn in November, maybe she can figure it out. SMILE, Carol
