Hi,
I just thought I would let everyone know about a promising new dental product that is available to help strengthen and protect your teeth.
Here is a link to a site that has the product information.
http://www.dentist.net/prospec-mipaste-recaldent.asp
I have been using and recomending it to my patients for a few months and have had great success with it.
A note of CAUTION: Allergy ALERT!!
If you are allergic to milk or milk products you cannot use MI Paste!! Recaldent the regenerative component of the product is derived from milk Casein. The manufacturer goes to great lengths to make this known.
If you currently use fluoride to protect your teeth you can use MIPaste as well, the two products will only increase your level of tooth protection.
Ask your dentist if you want more information or think you could benefit from this product.

Cheers,
Mike

Not in lieu of anything...just another tool in the tool box so to speak.
Like electrostatic painting...it goes where it's needed the most.

Angel,
I have tried it and it comes in various flavors. The vanilla is the best in my opinion and will not burn at all.
What type and concentration of fluoride are you using? If it burns it's causing unwanted effects on the tissues and needs to be rectified. Let me know the brand name and I'll try to help you solve this.
Cheers,
Mike

Dr. Mike, One is SF 5000 Plus 1,1% sodium floride and it's a cream, the other is Patterson's Brand Take Home cool mint gel. Is that the info you needed? Thanks, Angel

Yes that is it.
I am familiar with the Patterson brand and stopped using it a number of years ago. It is a great product but I found that many of my patients complained of the same burning sensation that you are. The mint flavoring seems to be the main culprit in my experience. Does the cream fluoride bother you as well?
I would suggest that if the above is, in fact, the situation that you discuss this with your dentist and just use the cream possibly longer or more often.
If the cream fluoride is bothering you too then we have to look to other products from other manufacturers and this is a trial and error process.
Cheers,
Mike

Dr. Mike, hi again and thank you for your reply. I may have posted this in the wrong section so I am posting again here.

Ken has just seen a periodontist for gingivitis & periodontal disease. He is going to have 4 treatments of scaling/root planing hoping to avoid surgery. He has a few loose teeth (he was suppose to have a bridge done but that is not advised now).

We are just trying to save some money regarding the toothpaste with the 1.1% sodium fluoride @ $15 a tube (a very small tube at that). He does use the MI Paste which he also gets from the dentist.

His salivary glands, after 4 yrs., are still not functioning. I wonder if they ever will. He does use the fluoride trays every evening.

Thanks for your support and help.

Ken's wife Linda

PS - ever check into the dental appliance I mentioned that delivers water to the mouth? Very expensive here in IL!
