I had a colonoscopy done and it was clean. However he Dr did find a nodule on my prostrate gland. A nodule has a 50 percent statistically chance of being cancerous.

I have been a caregiver to my wife since she was diagnosed with H/N cancer 14 months ago. We have gone through hell the last 14 months and now this.

I am very worried. If this turns out to be cancer I worry about the added burden to our lives, my future health and the impact on my employment and finances. She seems unfazed however.

Vin, what is your next step? From what I know about prostate cancer[if indeed it is that] it is very cureable. Amy

Vin, Try to rememebr that it isn't cancer until they say it is. I certainly understand that this must feel like another blow on top of the hell you've already been through but what Amy says is true. The prognosis for prostate cancer is usually pretty good.

Hi Amy,

Thank you for your reply. I think of you as good friend.

I have made two appointments with two urologists. One is at CCC where my wife received her treatments and the other is the one I had seen in the past. I will get to see them in the next couple of weeks. They will do an exam and possibly a biopsy. I will have a diagnosis in the next few weeks. I am praying for good news as my wife still need a lot of help and care.

I have done some reading on the internet and it seems that the survival rate for prostate cancer is better than 90 percent.

Thank for your support and I hope that you and John are doing well and I wish both you well.

Vin.

Hi Nelie,

Like Amy I also consider you to be a good friend as you have provided with a lot of help in the past. I also hope you are doing well and I wish you well.

I am keeping an open mind as from what I read on the internet there are other factors that cause prostate nodules.

My wife was just beginning to feel better and she had had her stomach tube removed and although very slowly she was eating by mouth. So this at his time is indeed a huge psychological blow.

I keep hoping and praying that this will turn out to be nothing.

Vin

Vin, granted-there are a few things in life that are insurmountable- but many things are if you view them that way. Lets hope your tests come out clean. If not, then you will just have to do what comes next. One foot in front of the other. hang in there-both of you. Amy

Vin,

We are a dual cancer home and I have to say that I have always thought that hey, since I already went through the fire myself 9 years ago that my husband should have been immune to any form of cancer. HA! Someone else obviously had other plans for us!

I hope you find that everything is alright but if not, remember, you have already had experience with cancer and you know that what it seems to come down to is just taking it step by step day by day. There really is not much else you can do.

Wishing you the best.
