My husband just started something new that causes frequent urination...and some sweating...which I think in turn makes him thirstier.
It's hard not to get scared when something gets bigger instead of smaller. Can you call your doctor tonight? If it were me, I'd be calling now, so I could get some possible answers so I could rest better. My doctor got pretty used to my late night questions.

I have my fingers and toes crossed that your mom's tumor is not back and that it is swelling or something else. Please e-mail or post when you return, I will be thinking of you two all day.
You were right...I was at soccer and I can never hear my cell phone ring outside. But, thanks for trying. Hopefully, we'll talk soon. Sounds like it was a rough day on the soccer field for Jesse's team and for Ed.
Between my two kids they had 7 soccer games this weekend. I'm afraid to look at next weekend's schedule. Dan isn't driving yet, so it's hard to juggle the two kids' schedules.
We don't have a dental oncologist...Dan has been seeing our regular dentist...in fact, we were just at his office this past Friday. What is the difference, I wonder if Dan should consult with a dental oncologist just to be safe. I worry about the long term impact of the radiation.
Why is your mom getting trays made? Does it have anything to do with the brachytherapy?
Am glad she is getting hydration today...that helped Dan so much that 2nd week after treatment.
Although, now he is struggling with depression...that's what the new rx was for...but, that rx is causing it's own set of new problems. Arrggghh! He's going to the doctor's later today. He's so tired of being tired and he's impatient about wanting to return to his pre-treatment life.
I see huge leaps and bounds that he has made in the healing department, but I think at his worst he was kind of out of it...so, he doesn't see the improvements quite like I do. You're still the best daughter going and you've got her to hospital. You must be tired after these 'high-octane' months--I'm less time into than your mom and I know we're exhausted! Well, it turns out that the tumor is just fine-it raised yesterday, but it was back down today while at the dental onc's office. Apparently, and mind you I have no idea what I am talking about, it's normal for it to do this???? All I know is the MO, RO and DO(dental onc...is that correct?) were so happy with her progress. She was very dehydrated. I took her over to the MO's office and they set her up with 2 litres. She has to return tomorrow for about the same. they are going to insert a pic line. I thought they were going to have to keep her today, but eventually one nurse wass able to help her. Imagine, they only had to try 8 times! The poor nurses were so upset, I felt bad for them. Margaret- Mom went for an impression for the brachtherapy- she will need to wear this for about 3.5 days while they have her in. It looks like a huge mold of sillyputty squeezed to fit inside her mouth. Brenda- Thanks for the kind words...some days more than others they mean so very much to me. How are you feeling? Donna

I think because it's a CCC, and her teeth were in poor condition. Also, she has a history with gum disease. I am so tired. I think I'm going to make a cup of tea. Donna

The poor condition of your mom's teeth and her history of the gum disease is really not the issue. Rose needs specialized procedures done at this point, such as the tray for the brachytherapy. We have no experience with these types of procedures and the dentist at the hospital deals with these types of things on a regular basis.
Doing her routine care, such as the root canals that Jeff did, is no problem. Hope this helps.

Phew!!! I am glad to hear that everything is ok...or as good as can be expected. I hope your mom starts feeling better, 8 pokes is a lot...especially when you don't feel well.
Sounds like the two of you had a long day. I hope you are both getting some rest.

All I know for certain is that they are placing catheters in her tongue, she will get gold seeds placed in them, she will have a mouth guard to protect her jaw....am I missing something here? Oh, and a temp trach. Possibley a neck dissection after...
