Peace....

If you are near Richmond I can help you as well. Just let me know if you need the name and number. My Dad has a prosthodontist that he sees regularly.

Peace,

Here is a link for you to use if you are not near Richmond and can use the referrals above: http://www.prosthodontics.org/patients/find.asp just fill out the form with your zip code.

This is a link to a web site of two friends of mine that are prosthodontists. http://dentalimplants-usa.com/prostho.html You can read about what they do and that they treat oral cancer patients.

I hope you find someone soon.

Jerry

Peace,
A prosthodontist has 2 to 3 years more trainging beyond dental school. They learn how to restore function in very difficult cases. They tend to deal wtih the whole mouth in cases that have had extensive destruction of the teeth, surgery to the jaws and supporting structures post cancer treatment or post surgery.
We are all capable of treateing theses cases however, prosthodontists pretty much stick to this type of whole mouth rehabilitation as opposed to treating simple healthy one or two teeth cases.
It's a little more involved than that but that is the long and the short of it.
Hope all is getting better.
Cheers,
Mike

Hey guys,
Well, I made an appmt for next Wed. My mouth just hurts when I sleep but I am going to make my mind up. If it is a small fix, I will let him do it if it involves numbing and fixing. But if it is more, I will check it out with Mike and Jerry just to be safe. The radiation part scares me always and since I have a pectoral flap in my mouth, whenever anyone comes at it with a pick- I just scrunch up and wait to die. I will kee pyou posted. If it is serious, then I will leave the state if I have to see a prosthodonist. I pray that there is no more pain in my future.
Thanks you guys!
