He had a neck dissection 11/06. Prior to his cancer, he was prone to wax build-up and had to go to his ENT about twice a year to have his ear cleaned out. He has scheduled an appointment with him for next week but I was wondering if this hearing loss could be a side effect that others may be experiencing.

If you do a search on hearing loss, you should get quite a bit of information. I had hearing loss and tinitus after my 2nd dose of cisplatin. They switched me to carboplatin which doesn't caue hearing loss. Hopefully your husband's is wax build up.

It's not bad enough to require hearing aids but I can notice it. I was told it was from the cisplatin. If he had any ringing in his ears during chemo my MO told me that was damage taking place. Of course he didn't share that tidbit of info with me until after I complained about hearing problems. He also told me that despite my test results my hearing may improve.
